| A pair of dice is one of the main components of the game. There is a wood railing that goes around the outside edge of the table. The dice are to be thrown against the wood railing. The wood railing acts as a backboard for the dice to be thrown against. The railing is sponge-lined on the inside with random patterns so that the dice bounce randomly. The surface of the table is green and it has a lot of different designs. The most important areas of the table are “Pass Line” and “Don’t Pass” areas The Table Layout |
| The current player rolls a seven and the game starts. Before rolling the dice the new player has to make a bet. The player makes either a pass line bet or a don't pass bet. Only after placing a bet the player rolls the dice, which is called the "comeout roll". If the player rolls 7 or 11 he is said to have made a pass. If the player makes a pass the pass line bets win and don’t pass lines lose. Don't pass line bets do not win if the "craps" number is a 12 in Las Vegas or a 2 in Reno and Tahoe.
If a 4,5,6,8,9,10 is rolled on the comeout that number is called a "place" number or a "point". In the case of a “point” number players can choose one of the bets. You can make bets on each subsequent roll of the dice until a 7 is rolled How To Play Craps |
| There are several bets in Craps. If you want to make a line bet, you place your money on the area of the table that says "Pass Line" or "Don't Pass".
If you think that the shooter will roll 2 or 3 on the comeout roll or will roll a 7 after rolling a point number and before rolling this point number again you choose a ‘don’t pass line bet’ area. If the point number is rolled on the comeout the player is aloowed to take true odds against a 7 appearing before the point number is rolled again. Some casinos allow to make odds bets of two, three or even more times the amount of the line bet. The odds bet is paid at a rate equal to the odds of that point number being made before a 7 is rolled. To place an odd bet you have to place your money behind you pass line bet. Be aware that you will not find an area for the odds bets on the craps table. Remember that all the players are allowed to make odds bets, though the house doesn’t want to encourage odds bets. Remember that you can make an adds bet any time after a comeout point is rolled. Don’t forget to take your money or chips off the table if you win. To make a pass line bet click on the Pass Line area of the table. If the point number is rolled you are to continue rolling until you have the same number. Traditionally the bet odds are equal to the line bets. Some casinos allow to make odds bets which are higher than line bets. A Come Bet is made when the shooter is going to repeat the point number. If there is a point number the bet is moved from the come area to the point-box indicating the point-number that the shooter must roll for that bet to win. If the point-number is rolled before a 7, you win. If you win in Come Bet the payout is 1:1. Odds bet on the Come bet. Field Bet is a one-roll bet. You win even money if 3,4,9,10 or 11 rolls. If any other number is rolled you lose.
